As of the 1st August of 2012 Ukraine's 
                    population was estimated at 45560,3 thsd. persons. During 
                    January-July 2012 the population decreased by 73,4 thsd. people, 
                    that amounted to 2,8 persons per 1000 population. At the same 
                    time a natural increase of the population was registered in 
                    seven regions of Ukraine: Kyiv, Volyn, Rivne, Zakarpattya, 
                    Ivano-Frankivs'k and Sevastopol (from 3,4-0,7 persons per 
                    1000 population). 
                   
                      The population decline by was exclusively 
                    due to natural decrease –97,3 thsd. persons, at the same time 
                    the migration gain – 23,9 thsd. persons was registered. 
                   
                       In comparison with January-July of 2011 
                    the volume of a natural decrease reduced by 21,0 thsd. persons, 
                    or from 4,5 to 3,7 persons per 1000 population. A natural 
                    decrease of the population was registered in the 23 Ukraine`s 
                    regions, but only in the city of Kyiv, Rivne, Zakarpattya, 
                    and Volyn regions a natural increase of the population (2878, 
                    1986, 1581 and 667 persons) was registered.  
                     
                            A natural movement of 
                    the population in January-July 2012 was characterized by the 
                    increase of birth and decrease death rates. .A significant 
                    surplus of the number of deaths over the number of live birth 
                    remains: 100 deaths per 75 live births.

                       At the same time the birth rate increase 
                    of from 10,5 persons per 1000 population in January-July of 
                    2011 to 11.2 in January-July of 2012. 
                  There was a significant difference in the birth rate between 
                    Ukraine's regions: from 9,3‰ in Chernihiv region to 15,7 in

                         In January-July 2012 there were 
                  registered 1914 cases of dead births, that is by 124 cases more 
                  compared to the corresponding period of the preceding year. 
                  The number of infant deaths under 1 year of age decreased from 
                  8,9 to 8,6 cases and constituted 2546 persons. 
                   
                       The leading causes of infant death 
                  under 1 year of age were: certain conditions arising in the 
                  perinatal period; congenital malformations, deformations and 
                  chromosomal abnormalities (congenital abnormalities); external 
                  death causes; some infectious and parasitic diseases; diseases 
                  of the nervous system; diseases of the respiratory system. There 
                  remains a significant part of infants (4,1%) whose death cause

                    from other countries - 45,9%. Among those who left Ukraine
