As of the 1st October of 2011 Ukraine's population was estimated at 
          45665,3 thsd. persons. During January-September 2011 the population 
          decreased by 113,3 thsd. people, that amounted to 3,3 persons per 1000 
          population. At the same time a natural increase of the population was 
          registered in eight regions of Ukraine: Zakarpattya,Volyn, Rivne, Kyiv, 
          Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, ñity of Kyiv, Sevastopol (from 2,6 äî 0,3 
          persons per 1000 population). 
        
         The population decline by was exclusively due to natural decrease 
          – 125,5 thsd. people, at the same time the migration gain – 12,2 thsd. 
          people was registered. 
         In comparison with January-September of 2010 the volume of a natural 
          decrease reduced by 26,8 thsd. people, or from 4,4 ‰ to 3,7 ‰. A natural 
          decrease of the population was registered in the 22 Ukraine`s regions, 
          but only in the city of Kyiv, Zakarpattya, Rivne, Volyn and Chernivtsi regions 
          a natural increase of the population (3598, 2519, 2356, 525 and 8 persons, 
          respectively) was registered.  
         
            A significant surplus of the number of deaths over 
          the number of live birth remains: 100 deaths per 75 live births.

        between Ukraine's regions: from 9,0‰ in Sumy region to 15,1 in Rivne region

        The death rate decreased from 15,3 ‰ in January-September of 2010 to 
          14,6 - in January-September of 2011. The heighest death rate was registered

           In January-September 2011 there were registered 2386 cases 
          of dead births, that is by 108 cases less compared to the corresponding 
          period of the preceding year. The number of infant deaths under 1 year 
          of age deacreased by 51 cases.  
           
           The leading causes of infant death under 1 year of age were: certain 
          conditions arising in the perinatal period; congenital malformations, 
          deformations and chromosomal abnormalities (congenital abnormalities); 
          external death causes; some infectious and parasitic diseases; diseases 
          of the nervous system; diseases of the respiratory system. There remains 
          a significant part of infants (4,6%) whose death cause was not determined 
          by medical personnel.  
           Among death causes of the population of Ukraine 
          in January-September of 2011 as in January-September of 2010 the diseases 
          of blood circulatory system ranked first, neoplasms followed second

            Almost a half of people arrived in Ukraine have registered 
        their place of residence in 5 regions: in the city of Kyiv, Odesa, Autonomic 
        Republic of Crimea, Donets`k and Dnipropetrovs`k regions
         
            Among those who arrived in Ukraine during January-September 
        of 2011 the immigrants from the CIS countries constituted 77,3%, from 
        other countries - 22,7%. Among those who left Ukraine 44,0 % moved to 
        the CIS countries and 56,0% - to other countries.
